Return Policy
This Return Policy applies to all products and services provided by H.A.S. Novelties Ltd. and H.A.S. Marketing Ltd., operating as T-Shirt Elephant (collectively, "T-Shirt Elephant," "we," "us," or "our"). It governs all orders placed through our website, by email, by telephone, or through a customer service representative.
Because our products are custom printed and made to order, our return policy differs from standard retail return policies. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
Overview & Scope
This Return Policy applies to all past, present, and future orders placed with T-Shirt Elephant, whether through our website at tshirtelephant.com, by email, by telephone, or through a customer service agent. By placing an order through any of these channels, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this policy.
T-Shirt Elephant specializes in custom-printed apparel and promotional products. Because each item is manufactured specifically to your order and specifications, we are unable to accept returns for reasons other than defects, misprints, or damage attributable to our manufacturing or handling process.
We make every item to order. Because of this, we can only accept returns when something is wrong with the product itself — not for change of mind.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
All products offered by T-Shirt Elephant are custom printed and manufactured to order. This means production begins promptly after your order is confirmed. Because of the custom nature of our products:
- We cannot accept returns based on change of mind, buyer's remorse, or personal preference.
- We cannot accept returns for colour variations that fall within normal printing tolerances or slight differences between on-screen appearance and the final printed product.
- It is your responsibility to verify all order details — including design, sizing, quantities, colours, and garment selections — before finalizing your order.
Every order is custom made. Double-check your design, sizes, and quantities before confirming, because we can't take back items made specifically for you.
Defective, Misprinted & Damaged Items
We stand behind the quality of our work. If you receive products that are misprinted, defective, or damaged during manufacturing or shipping, we will make it right.
Claim Window: Any claims for misprinted, defective, or damaged items must be submitted within 5 business days of receiving your order. Claims submitted after this period may not be eligible for resolution.
What Qualifies:
- Print quality that does not match the approved digital proof (within reasonable limits)
- Wrong items or garments shipped
- Incorrect sizes or quantities delivered
- Physical defects in the garment (holes, tears, stains not caused by the customer)
- Damage during shipping (crushed boxes, water damage, etc.)
What to Include: When submitting a claim, please provide your order number, a detailed description of the issue, and clear photographs showing the defect or damage. Claims without supporting photographs may be delayed or denied.
Resolution: Claims deemed to be an error on our part will be resolved at our expense. Depending on the nature of the issue, we may offer a reprint, replacement, or refund at our discretion. Original garments may need to be returned to us (at our expense) before a reprint is shipped.
If we made a mistake, we'll fix it. Report any issues within 5 business days with photos and your order number, and we'll reprint, replace, or refund.
Lost or Missing Shipments
For packages lost in transit, all claims must be submitted no later than 30 days after the estimated delivery date. We will work with the shipping carrier to investigate the claim and, if confirmed lost, arrange a replacement or refund.
If tracking information shows a package as delivered but you have not received it, please check with neighbours, building management, or other household members before filing a claim. We may require you to file a report with the shipping carrier or local authorities.
If your package is genuinely lost in the mail, let us know within 30 days and we'll sort it out with the carrier.
Sizing & Fit
We provide sizing charts on our product pages to help you select the appropriate garment size. It is your responsibility to review these sizing charts before placing your order.
We cannot provide returns or refunds for sizing issues or garments that do not fit as expected, provided the garment falls approximately within the manufacturer's published size chart specifications. Blank garment manufacturers do have some variation from garment to garment, and slight deviations from the sizing chart are normal.
If a particular product does not have a sizing chart displayed on its product page, you may request one by contacting us at [email protected] before placing your order.
Check the sizing chart before you order. If a shirt runs slightly different from the chart, that's normal garment variation. If there's no sizing chart listed, just email us and we'll send you one.
Design Preview & Order Confirmation
Our online design studio provides a live mockup preview of your product as you build your order. This preview shows the design, layout, colours, text, and placement on the selected garment. By completing your order, you are confirming that the mockup displayed in the design studio is accurate and to your satisfaction.
Your Responsibility: It is your responsibility to carefully review the design preview in the design studio before finalizing your order. This includes verifying spelling, logos, artwork placement, colour selections, and garment choices. Once the order is placed, production begins promptly based on the design as shown in the studio.
After Ordering: Once an order has been placed, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds for design-related issues, including but not limited to spelling errors, incorrect logos, colour choices, or placement decisions that were visible in the design studio mockup at the time of ordering.
If the final printed product does not reasonably resemble the mockup that was displayed in the design studio at the time of your order, we will reprint your order at no additional charge, provided that the original garments are returned to us at our expense.
The design studio shows you exactly what you're getting. Review it carefully before placing your order — once ordered, we print what was shown. If the final product doesn't match the mockup, we'll redo it free of charge.
Exchanges
Due to the custom nature of our products, we have limited exchange options:
- Printed Items: We do not offer exchanges on custom-printed items. Once an item has been printed, it cannot be exchanged for a different size, colour, or style.
- Blank (Unprinted) Garments: We may offer exchanges on blank, unprinted garments provided they are returned to us in unused, unworn, and original condition. Exchanges on blank garments are subject to a 25% restocking fee, payable by the customer.
The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping items back to T-Shirt Elephant for exchange. Exchanges can only be processed once the returned items are received and confirmed to be in undamaged, unused condition by our team.
We can't exchange printed items. Blank (unprinted) garments can be exchanged if unused, but there's a 25% restocking fee and you cover return shipping.
Wrong Address & Unclaimed Shipments
Wrong Address: If you provide a shipping address that is incomplete, incorrect, or deemed insufficient by the courier, the shipment will be returned to our facility. You will be responsible for the cost of reshipping the order once a corrected address has been confirmed.
Unclaimed Shipments: Shipments that go unclaimed at the delivery point, post office, or courier facility and are returned to us will be held for 30 days. You will be responsible for the cost of reshipping. After 30 days, unclaimed inventory may be disposed of at our discretion, and no refund will be issued.
Double-check your shipping address. If a package comes back because of a wrong address or nobody picks it up, you'll need to pay for re-shipping.
Cancellations
Because all products are made to order and production begins promptly after order confirmation, we generally do not offer cancellations. Once an order has entered production, it cannot be cancelled.
If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected]. We will do our best to accommodate cancellation requests that are received before production has begun, but cancellation is not guaranteed.
If a cancellation is approved before production, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method. If production has already started, the order cannot be cancelled and no refund will be provided.
If you need to cancel, contact us immediately. Once production starts, we can't undo it. The sooner you reach out, the better chance we can help.
Refund Process
When a refund is approved, it will be processed as follows:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
- Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement after it has been processed.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on our part (defect, misprint, or wrong item shipped).
- For orders paid by cheque, e-transfer, or invoice, refunds will be issued by the same method or by e-transfer, at our discretion.
Refunds go back the way you paid. Allow 5–10 business days for it to show up. Shipping costs are only refunded if the mistake was ours.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, T-Shirt Elephant's total liability for any claim arising from or related to an order — whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory — shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that specific order.
In no event shall H.A.S. Novelties Ltd., H.A.S. Marketing Ltd., or T-Shirt Elephant be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunities, or reputational harm, arising from any order, product, or service.
This limitation applies to all orders regardless of whether they were placed through our website, by email, by telephone, or through a customer service representative.
If something goes wrong, the most we can be responsible for is the amount you paid for that order.

Please include the following information with your claim:
- Your full name and order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the defect, damage, or discrepancy
- Your preferred resolution (reprint, replacement, or refund)
We aim to respond to all claims within 2 business days and resolve valid claims promptly.

Consumer Protection Rights
Nothing in this Return Policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario), the Sale of Goods Act (Manitoba/Ontario), or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. Where this policy conflicts with your statutory rights as a consumer, the applicable legislation shall prevail.
This Return Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
Your consumer rights under Canadian and provincial law always come first. This policy doesn't override those protections.
