Washing Instructions

• Machine wash cold or warm — never hot. Hot water accelerates ink breakdown and causes cotton to shrink.
• Gentle or normal cycle — either is fine for infant fabrics. Avoid heavy-duty cycles.
• Turn inside out before washing — this protects the print from abrasion against other garments and the drum.
• Mild detergent — standard baby-safe detergents (Dreft, Tide Free & Gentle) are ideal. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners if you want to preserve dark-coloured garments.

Drying Instructions

• Tumble dry low or hang dry — both are safe for custom printed garments.
• Avoid high heat — high dryer temperatures can cause plastisol ink to crack over time, especially on heavily printed designs.
• Remove promptly from the dryer to prevent wrinkling, especially on fine jersey styles.

What Not to Do

• Do not bleach — chlorine bleach degrades screen printing inks and destroys cotton fibres over time. For stubborn stains, use an oxygen-based cleaner (see below).
• Do not iron directly on printed areas — iron the garment inside out, or use a pressing cloth between the iron and the print if ironing on the outside.
• Do not dry clean — dry cleaning solvents are not compatible with plastisol inks.
• Do not use petroleum-based stain removers near print areas — they can soften plastisol and cause smearing.

Stain Treatment

• OxiClean Baby Stain Remover — enzyme-based, safe for printed garments and infant skin
• Spray & Wash or similar enzyme cleaners — safe when applied away from the print area
• Cold water soak — effective for fresh formula, breastmilk, or food stains before washing

Inks are cured at 320°F in a conveyor dryer, which fully cross-links the ink polymer with the fabric fibres. Properly cured plastisol prints last hundreds of washes without cracking, peeling, or fading — far longer than heat-transfer vinyl or inkjet DTG alternatives.
