How do I get a quote?
↓
The easiest way to get a quote is to use our Design Studio. Simply upload your design on your selected product and then hit the Get Quote button on the bottom of the screen. Once you are on the quote screen, select your desired quantity and then hit Update Quote. You will be given a quote for the total, and the cost for each item.
What is the minimum order quantity?
↓
There is no minimum order quantity. You can order as few as 1 custom printed item, though bulk orders offer better pricing per unit.
Do you do sample orders?
↓
Because of the extremely high order volume we process, we do not offer free sample orders as a service. However, you're welcome to place a small order before you plan on placing a larger order to test out our printing service. In addition, if you're worried about print quality, please check out our gallery page for some images of our work. Please note that there is no guarantee that a sample or a smaller sized order will be printed with the same print method as a larger sized order. For small quantity orders, we typically use
DTF (Direct to Film) printing, whereas on larger orders, we tend to use
Screen Printing more often. Please keep this in mind when placing orders for samples.

What happens if my order is late?
↓
T-Shirt Elephant strives to deliver all orders by the estimated delivery date provided on our website, cart pages, and invoices. Please note, the ship-to date on our website refers to the day the order will ship from our location, not the date it will be delivered by. Most orders are delivered 1-5 business days after they are shipped based on your location in Canada. Orders shipping to major cities generally arrive faster, while rural areas will take longer. Customers requiring a guaranteed date should use our expedited and rush options, as we can guarantee the delivery date of these orders.
Can I change my order or add notes?
↓
We allow customers to add notes to their orders to help clarify any additional details that could be relevant to their order. However, notes may not be followed exactly, and all designs will be printed the same size on all shirts, unless the customer contacts us BEFORE placing the order. We will under no circumstances allow notes to be made after an order is placed. We will allow orders to be cancelled only up to 24 hours after the order is placed, otherwise orders cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.
What if there is a problem with my order?
↓
At T-Shirt Elephant, if the custom products you receive differ materially from what you created or if the goods are otherwise flawed, or if your order arrives significantly later than promised, then you may be eligible to return the custom goods for refund within 15 days of receiving your custom order. We will have to take 1-2 business days to review a claim for a reprint or refund. Please note, we will not provide refunds for artwork that falls within our standard artwork size and for garments that differ slightly than the size charts listed on our website. For items that are stained, damaged, or where the print is significantly different from what has been ordered, you may be eligible for a refund.
Why does my shirt look different from the website?
↓
While we attempt to show colours of garments on our website accurately, the actual colour of any merchandise may differ from that shown on our website due to the nature of a garment's manufacturing process. This may include, but is not limited to: variations in colour (due to dye lots) and sizing.

Art & Design
What resolution is optimal for my artwork?
↓
Vector is ideal, but 300dpi will do nicely as well.
What file types do you accept?
↓
We accept .jpeg, .png, .eps, and .pdf. For best results, please use high resolution .jpeg or .png images, or vectored .eps/.pdf images without embedded artwork with all fonts converted to outlines.
My image looks pixelated, can you fix it?
↓
We do our best to clean up any images before we print them, if it looks like your design will print blurry or pixelated then we will notify you and work toward a resolution.
Do you offer sleeve printing?
↓
Sleeve printing is only available on the Gildan Heavy Cotton (G5000). Please use our online design studio to add your custom sleeve art.
Will you screen print my order, or use DTF?
↓
Smaller quantity orders are typically printed using
DTF (Direct to Film) technology at the discretion of our printers, unless specified by the customer. Larger orders may be
screen printed. This can change depending on the number of colours in the artwork as well.
What about copyrighted artwork?
↓
If artwork contains elements that might violate copyright (logos, brands, characters, etc.), we reserve the right to remove such elements and print the remaining graphic without these elements. If an order contains elements that might violate copyright, and we are not able to remove such elements from the artwork, we reserve the right to request alternative artwork from the customer. Such orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.
What if my artwork or garments are sized differently?
↓
Garments are sized by suppliers and size charts are available, linked, on the product page. Please note that individual garments may vary from the size charts. We are not able to process refunds for garments that do not fit based on expectations. Artwork size and positioning cannot be guaranteed. We will endeavour to use artwork sized as supplied, but we may resize or reposition artwork to fit within our normal production parameters.
What if my artwork has been adjusted?
↓
We allow customers to add notes to their orders to help clarify any additional details that could be relevant to their order. However, notes may not be followed exactly, and all designs will be printed the same size on all shirts, unless the customer contacts us BEFORE placing the order.
What if my art is not print quality?
↓
We will do what we can to ensure your art is print ready which means at times we will have to clean up or fix artwork. Providing artwork that is not print ready (low quality, needing adjustments, etc) may cause delays in production and the Estimated Delivery date for the order will begin after T-Shirt Elephant has fixed the artwork and made it print ready.
Pricing & Payment
How do you determine pricing?
↓
We determine pricing based on the cost of the specific product, the number of colours used in your design, and by the quantity of shirts required for your order. Everything is calculated automatically through the site.
Is there an additional charge for set up fees?
↓
No, we do not charge separate set up fees. Pricing is all-inclusive.
What payment methods do you accept?
↓
We accept VISA, MC, and AMEX.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
↓
Yes, volume pricing is built into our system. The more you order, the lower the per-unit price. Best savings at 24+, 50+, and 100+ quantities.
Print Methods
Screen Printing
What is screen printing?
↓
Screen Printing is a professional print method that uses permanent and vibrantly coloured plastisol ink pressed through mesh (the screen). The ink is printed directly onto the t-shirt fabric and cured at 350 degrees to ensure the print never fades, cracks or peels. Screen Printing ensures a better final product that will outlast any other printing method. It's ideal for large quantities because the process allows for greater price breaks based on how many shirts are printed at once.
How durable is screen printing?
↓
Screen printing is extremely durable, lasting 100+ washes and typically 5-10 years of regular wear. The plastisol ink is cured at high temperatures (350°F) creating a permanent bond with the fabric that won't fade, crack, or peel over time.
How many colours can I use with screen printing?
↓
Screen printing supports up to 8 spot colours per design. Each colour requires a separate screen, so designs with fewer colours are more cost-effective. We can match specific Pantone colours for brand consistency.
When is screen printing the best choice?
↓
Screen printing is ideal for bulk orders of 24+ items, designs with 1-8 spot colours, when you need Pantone colour matching for brand consistency, and when maximum durability is required. The per-unit cost decreases significantly with larger quantities.
DTF (Direct to Film) Printing
What is DTF printing?
↓
DTF (Direct to Film) printing is a modern printing technology that transfers designs from a special film onto fabric using heat and pressure. The design is first printed onto a clear PET film, then coated with adhesive powder, and finally heat-pressed onto the garment. This creates vibrant, full-colour prints with a soft feel.
What are the benefits of DTF printing?
↓
DTF offers several advantages: unlimited colours including gradients, photos, and complex graphics at no extra cost; a soft, flexible feel that moves with the fabric; excellent durability lasting 50+ washes; works on virtually any fabric type including cotton, polyester, and blends; no minimum order quantities; and quick turnaround times.
How durable is DTF printing?
↓
DTF prints are highly durable, typically lasting 50+ washes when properly cared for. The adhesive creates a strong bond with the fabric. For best results, wash garments inside-out in cold water and avoid high heat when drying.
When should I choose DTF vs screen printing?
↓
Choose
DTF for: small quantities (1-23 items), designs with many colours, photos, or gradients, printing on polyester or blends, and when you need quick turnaround. Choose
screen printing for: bulk orders (24+ items), designs with few spot colours, when you need Pantone matching, and when maximum durability is the priority.
What file formats work best for DTF?
↓
For best DTF results, provide PNG files with transparent backgrounds at 300 DPI resolution. We also accept AI, EPS, and PDF vector files. Vector files are ideal as they can be scaled without losing quality. Avoid low-resolution JPEGs as they may appear pixelated when printed.
Embroidery
What is embroidery?
↓
Embroidery uses thread stitched directly into the fabric to create your design. It provides a premium, professional look that's extremely durable. The thread is stitched in a pattern based on a digital file converted from your artwork (called "digitization"). Perfect for logos, corporate wear, team uniforms, and hats.
How durable is embroidery?
↓
Embroidery is the most durable decoration method available. The thread is literally stitched into the fabric, creating a permanent bond that will outlast the garment itself. Embroidered items can be washed hundreds of times without fading or damage.
What products work best for embroidery?
↓
Embroidery works best on polo shirts, hats and caps, jackets and outerwear, bags and backpacks, quarter-zips and fleece, and heavier fabrics like canvas. It's the standard for corporate apparel, team uniforms, and promotional products where a premium look is desired.
How many colours can embroidery use?
↓
We can use up to 15 thread colours in a single embroidered design. We have a wide selection of thread colours available to match your brand. Note that embroidery is best for solid colour designs rather than photos or gradients, which are better suited to
DTF printing.
Is there a setup fee for embroidery?
↓
No setup fees! We provide free digitization of your artwork for
embroidery orders. Digitization is the process of converting your design into a stitch file that our embroidery machines can read. This is included at no extra charge with your order.
What's the minimum text size for embroidery?
↓
The minimum recommended text height for embroidery is ¼ inch (6mm). Text smaller than this becomes difficult to read and may not stitch cleanly. For best results with text-heavy designs, consider using a simple, bold font without thin lines or serifs.
General Print Questions
Do you use iron-ons?
↓
Never. Iron-ons are a cheap, non-permanent method of heat pressing a printed piece of paper into the fabric. They can be distinguished by their low quality - dull colours, borders around the image, and they often fade, crack, or peel after a few washes. We only use professional printing methods:
screen printing,
DTF printing, and
embroidery.
How do I place an order for embroidery?
↓
Hat or headwear orders placed through the website will most often be embroidered, but in the case of high colour or full colour images they will be printed digitally. We also reserve the right to use the best decoration method possible at our discretion. For
embroidery on other garments like sweaters or jackets, contact us at
[email protected] for pricing.
How do I choose between print methods?
↓
Here's a quick guide:
Screen Printing - best for bulk orders (24+), 1-8 colours, maximum durability.
DTF Printing - best for small orders, unlimited colours, photos, any fabric.
Embroidery - best for premium look, hats, polos, jackets, ultimate durability. Not sure? Contact us and we'll recommend the best method for your project!
What if I print black on black or white on white?
↓
Due to the nature of our printing process, if you choose to print a black image on a black garment, or white image on a white garment (or any variation of non-contrasting colours), the image may not be easily visible. We do not recommend printing non-contrasting colours as the results are usually not what is expected or represented in the editor.
Artwork & Design Resources
How do I prepare artwork for printing?
↓
For best results, provide vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) or high-resolution raster files (PNG, JPEG) at 300 DPI. Use transparent backgrounds for DTF printing. Convert fonts to outlines. For detailed guidance, see our
How to Prepare Artwork Guide.
What's the difference between vector and raster files?
↓
Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) use mathematical paths and can be scaled infinitely without losing quality. Raster files (PNG, JPEG) are made of pixels and can become blurry when enlarged. Vector is ideal for logos; raster works for photos. Learn more in our
File Types Guide.
What are the standard print locations?
↓
Standard locations include: Front Center (10-12"), Left/Right Chest (3-4"), Full Back (10-12"), Upper Back (10-12"), and Sleeves (3.5-5"). Each location has specific sizing guidelines. See our complete
Print Locations Guide for details.
Where should I place my logo?
↓
Logo placement depends on your purpose. Left chest is classic for corporate wear. Front center works for events and teams. Back prints maximize visibility. Our
Logo Placement Guide covers best practices for different use cases.
What design mistakes should I avoid?
↓
Common mistakes include: using low-resolution images, too many colours for screen printing, tiny text that won't print clearly, and not considering garment colour. Check our
Design Do's and Don'ts Guide for best practices.
Can I add names and numbers to my order?
↓
Yes! We offer personalized names and numbers for team jerseys, corporate uniforms, and events. Contact us with your roster details for pricing. See our

Can you print on pockets?
↓
Yes, we can print on pocket tees. The design can go on the pocket, above it, or we can print as if there's no pocket (design continues behind). See our
Pocket Printing Guide for options and considerations.
Where can I find design inspiration?
↓

↓
For events, order 4-6 weeks in advance for standard production, or 2-3 weeks with rush options. Peak seasons (spring graduations, fall sports) may need extra time. Plan with our

Hockey teams need warm hoodies and sweatpants for the rink, plus fan gear like t-shirts and toques. For game jerseys, we can sublimate or screen print. Team warm-ups, playoff shirts, and tournament gear are popular orders. We handle youth through adult sizes. Check our
Team Uniforms Guide.
What do soccer clubs typically order?
↓
Soccer clubs need moisture-wicking jerseys, practice pinnies, warm-up suits, and fan t-shirts. Performance polyester with sublimated or DTF prints handles sweat and washing well. We also provide team travel gear like hoodies and track pants with embroidered logos. See our
Sports Jerseys Guide.
What's popular for running clubs?
↓
Running clubs need lightweight, moisture-wicking singlets and tees that won't weigh you down. Reflective elements are great for early morning/evening runs. Popular additions: running caps, arm sleeves, and lightweight windbreakers. DTF printing on polyester is ideal. Explore our
Athletic Fabrics Guide.
What do golf tournaments need?
↓
Golf tournaments typically need embroidered polo shirts, caps/visors, and towels for swag bags. Premium brands like Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas are popular for upscale events. Embroidery is the standard for golf apparel - it looks professional and lasts for years. See our
Polo Shirts Guide.
Technical Printing Questions
Can you print on 100% polyester?
↓
Yes! DTF (Direct to Film) printing works beautifully on 100% polyester, including performance wear, jerseys, and sublimation-ready blanks. Unlike traditional screen printing which can crack on stretchy poly, DTF transfers flex with the fabric. It's ideal for athletic and moisture-wicking garments. Learn more in our
Performance Fabrics Guide.
How do you print on dark-coloured garments?
↓
For dark garments, we use a white underbase layer beneath your colours. In screen printing, this means printing white first, then your design colours on top. DTF printing automatically includes the white backing, making it excellent for dark fabrics. Both methods produce vibrant results. See our
Print Methods Comparison.
What are halftones in screen printing?
↓
Halftones are tiny dots of varying sizes that create the illusion of gradients and shading using a single ink colour. This technique allows us to achieve photo-realistic effects with screen printing without adding extra colours. The smaller and denser the dots, the darker the area appears. Learn about print techniques in our
Print Methods Guide.
Can you match exact Pantone colours?
↓
Yes! Screen printing excels at Pantone colour matching - we mix inks to your exact PMS specifications. This is crucial for brand consistency. DTF printing uses CMYK simulation which gets very close but may have slight variation. For exact brand colours, screen printing is recommended. See our
Print Methods Comparison.
What's the maximum print area?
↓
Standard maximum print areas: Front/Back full prints up to 14" x 17" on adult sizes. Left/right chest prints typically 4" x 4". Sleeve prints up to 4" x 5". Oversized prints are available for certain methods. Print area scales down for youth sizes. See exact dimensions in our
Print Locations Guide.
Can you print on seams or collars?
↓
Printing over seams is tricky - the uneven surface can cause ink gaps or distortion. We recommend keeping designs within flat fabric areas. Collar printing is possible with DTF transfers on certain styles. Custom inside neck label printing is available for rebranding. See placement tips in our
Print Locations Guide.
Design & Artwork Deep Dives
What fonts work best for screen printing?
↓
Bold, sans-serif fonts print best - think Impact, Helvetica Bold, or Futura. Avoid thin, script, or serif fonts at small sizes as fine details can fill in with ink. Minimum recommended font size is 1/4" for most fonts, larger for thin styles. Always convert fonts to outlines. See our
Design Do's and Don'ts Guide.
How thin can lines be in my design?
↓
For screen printing, lines should be at least 2 points (about 0.7mm) thick - thinner lines may not hold ink properly. DTF can handle finer detail, down to about 1 point. Embroidery needs minimum 1mm line width for thread coverage. When in doubt, thicker is safer! Check our
Design Guidelines.
How do I achieve a vintage/distressed look?
↓
The vintage look can be achieved several ways: 1) Design the distressing into your artwork before printing, 2) Use halftones to create a faded effect, 3) Print on garment-dyed blanks like Comfort Colors, 4) Use discharge printing to remove dye instead of adding ink. Each creates a different aesthetic! See examples in our
Design Inspiration Guide.
Can you print metallic or glitter inks?
↓
Yes! We offer specialty inks including metallic gold and silver, glitter, glow-in-the-dark, and puff (raised) inks through screen printing. These add dimension and visual interest to designs. Note that specialty inks work best with simple, bold designs and add to production cost. Contact us for specialty ink options. Learn about techniques in our
Print Methods Guide.
How do I remove the background from my logo?
↓
The best solution is to provide a vector file (AI, EPS, PDF) which has no background. For raster files, provide a PNG with transparent background. If you only have a JPEG with a white background, we can often remove it for simple logos. Complex images may require artwork services. See our
Artwork Preparation Guide.
What's the difference between CMYK and spot colours?
↓
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) uses dots of four inks to simulate any colour - great for photos but can vary between prints. Spot colours (like Pantone) use pre-mixed inks for exact, consistent colours - ideal for logos and brand elements. Screen printing typically uses spot colours; DTF uses CMYK. Learn more in our
File Types Guide.
Multi-Product & Coordinated Orders
Can I get matching designs on different products?
↓
Absolutely! We regularly produce coordinated orders with matching logos across t-shirts, hoodies, hats, bags, and more. We'll ensure consistent colours and quality across all items. Mix-and-match orders are perfect for company events, sports teams, or product launches. See our
Group Ordering Guide.
How do I coordinate colours across t-shirts and hoodies?
↓
We'll help match garment colours as closely as possible across different product types - though exact shades can vary between brands and fabric compositions. Provide your Pantone colour and we'll find the closest options. Using the same brand family (like all Gildan) helps with consistency. See our
Hoodies Guide.
Can the same logo work for embroidery and screen printing?
↓
Usually yes, but embroidery may require simplification. Fine details, thin lines, and gradients don't translate well to thread. We'll adapt your logo for embroidery (called "digitizing") while keeping the core design intact. The same logo can have a screen print version and an embroidery-optimized version. Learn more in our
Print Methods Guide.
Do you offer package deals for multiple products?
↓
Yes! We offer volume discounts when ordering multiple product types together. Common bundles include t-shirt + hoodie combos, uniform packages (polo + hat + jacket), and event kits (tee + tote bag). Contact us for custom package pricing. See volume benefits in our
Bulk Ordering Guide.
Eco & Sustainability
Do you offer organic cotton options?
↓
Yes! We carry organic cotton options from brands like Stanley/Stella, Alternative Apparel, and Econscious. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, making it better for the environment and workers. These typically cost 20-40% more than conventional cotton but appeal to eco-conscious customers. Learn about fabric options in our
Fabric Glossary.
Are there recycled polyester options?
↓
Yes! Recycled polyester (rPET) is made from post-consumer plastic bottles. It performs identically to virgin polyester but diverts plastic from landfills. Available in performance wear, hoodies, and fleece. Each garment typically uses 5-10 recycled bottles! Great for sustainability-minded brands. See our
Performance Fabrics Guide.
What's the most eco-friendly print method?
↓
Each method has trade-offs. Screen printing uses water-based inks (low-VOC, eco-friendly) but requires screen cleanup. DTF produces less waste per print but uses PET film. Embroidery produces minimal waste but uses polyester thread. For maximum sustainability, choose water-based screen printing on organic cotton. Compare methods in our
Print Methods Guide.
Do you offer sustainable packaging?
↓
We can accommodate sustainable packaging requests! Options include recycled cardboard boxes, paper tape, tissue paper, and compostable poly mailers. Bulk orders can skip individual poly bagging to reduce plastic. Let us know your sustainability priorities when ordering. See packaging options in our
Bulk Ordering Guide.
What certifications do eco-friendly blanks have?
↓
Look for these certifications: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for organic cotton, OEKO-TEX for chemical safety, Fair Trade for ethical production, and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) for recycled content. Many premium eco brands carry multiple certifications. We can help source specific certified products. Learn more in our
Fabric Guide.
Remote Teams & Modern Workplace
Can you ship to multiple addresses?
↓
Yes! We offer split shipping to multiple addresses across Canada - perfect for remote teams. Provide a spreadsheet with names, sizes, and addresses, and we'll handle individual fulfillment. Additional shipping charges apply per address. Popular for employee onboarding, holiday gifts, and team events. See our
Group Ordering Guide.
Do you offer swag box/kitting services?
↓
Yes! We can create custom swag boxes/kits that combine multiple items into branded packages. Perfect for new hire welcome kits, conference attendee gifts, or client appreciation packages. Include apparel, drinkware, notebooks, and more. We'll pack and ship directly to recipients. Contact us for kitting pricing and options. See our
Corporate Guide.
How do hybrid teams handle size collection?
↓
For distributed teams, use online forms (Google Forms, Typeform) to collect sizes and addresses. Share size charts from the specific brands you're ordering. Set a firm deadline for responses. Pro tip: allow employees to choose between unisex and fitted options when available. See sizing tips in our
Sizing Guide.
Can you include welcome cards in shipments?
↓
Yes! We can include printed cards, postcards, or notes with individual shipments. Provide the cards or we can print them. Popular additions: welcome letters from leadership, care instructions, product information, or discount codes for future orders. Adds a personal touch to remote deliveries! See our
Corporate Uniforms Guide.
Do you offer company store solutions?
↓
For companies wanting ongoing swag ordering, we can set up custom company store solutions. Employees can order and pay individually, or use company codes/budgets. Products are produced on-demand or from pre-printed inventory. Contact us to discuss company store options for your organization. Learn about bulk programs in our
Bulk Ordering Guide.
Troubleshooting & Common Issues
Why does my mockup look different from the final product?
↓
Digital mockups are visualizations, not exact previews. Differences can occur due to: fabric texture affecting print appearance, lighting conditions, your monitor's colour calibration, and the difference between RGB (screen) and actual ink colours. We send proofs before production - review carefully! Understand the process in our
Quotes Comparison Guide.
My printed colour doesn't match my screen - why?
↓
Screens use RGB light while printing uses inks - they can't perfectly match. Uncalibrated monitors make this worse. For critical colour accuracy, provide Pantone numbers for screen printing. DTF uses CMYK which simulates colours differently. The fabric colour underneath also affects final appearance. Learn about colour consistency in our
Reordering Guide.
What if I receive the wrong sizes?
↓
If we made an error, contact us immediately and we'll fix it at no charge. If the sizes were ordered incorrectly, exchanges depend on inventory and printing method. Unpersonalized items are easier to exchange. Always review your order confirmation carefully before production. Tips for getting sizes right in our
Sizing Guide.
Can I make changes after approving the proof?
↓
Once you approve the proof, we begin production. Changes after approval may result in delays and additional charges, depending on production stage. Contact us immediately if you catch an error - we'll do our best to accommodate before printing begins. That's why we recommend thorough proof review! See our
Pre-Order Checklist.
What's your defect/quality policy?
↓
We quality-check every item before shipping. If you receive defective items (print issues, wrong products, damaged goods), contact us within 15 days with photos. We'll reprint or refund affected items. Normal wear, customer-provided sizing errors, or issues with customer-supplied garments aren't covered. See care instructions in our
Durability & Care Guide.
Seasonal & Event Planning
What should I order for summer outdoor events?
↓
For summer events, choose lightweight, breathable fabrics. Moisture-wicking tees and tank tops keep people cool. Light colours reflect heat better than dark. Add branded sunglasses, baseball caps, or visors as giveaways. Don't forget sunscreen-friendly fabrics! See seasonal recommendations in our
Canadian Weather Guide.
What's best for winter trade shows?
↓
For winter trade shows, booth staff love quarter-zip pullovers, soft-shell jackets, or embroidered fleece vests. These layer well over dress shirts. For attendee giveaways, toques (beanies) and insulated tumblers are always hits. Consider warm, useful items people will keep! See our
Jackets & Outerwear Guide.
When should I order for holiday gifts?
↓
For December holiday delivery, order by early November for standard production. Late November orders require rush fees. Our busiest period is mid-October through November. Early bird ordering saves money and ensures product availability - popular items sell out! Plan ahead with our
Seasonal Planning Calendar.
What's the lead time for graduation season?
↓
Graduation season (May-June) is one of our busiest periods. For class of 2026 shirts, order by early April for standard production. Earlier is better for large orders and special requests. Many schools collect sizes in January-February for spring delivery. Check our
Seasonal Calendar for optimal timing.
Do you offer back-to-school specials?
↓
Yes! We offer special pricing for schools and educational organizations year-round. Back-to-school orders placed in July-August get priority processing. Spirit wear, teacher tees, and athletic uniforms are popular. Contact us for educational institution pricing! See our
Teacher & Faculty Apparel Guide.
Budget & Value Optimization
How can I maximize my budget?
↓
Budget tips: 1) Order larger quantities for volume discounts, 2) Reduce print colours (1-2 vs 4+), 3) Choose standard garments over premium, 4) Print on one location only, 5) Avoid rush fees by planning ahead, 6) Consider DTF for small quantities vs screen print setup fees. Every choice impacts cost! See our
Pricing Guide.
Does reducing colours save money?
↓
For screen printing, yes! Each colour requires a separate screen and setup, so fewer colours = lower cost. A 1-colour print is significantly cheaper than 4+ colours. DTF pricing doesn't vary much by colour count since it prints in full colour. If budget is tight, simplify your design for screen printing. Learn more in our
Pricing Guide.
What's the cost per impression for different methods?
↓
Screen printing has the lowest cost-per-piece at high volumes (100+), but setup costs make small orders expensive. DTF has consistent per-piece pricing that's economical for small-medium quantities. Embroidery costs more per piece but adds perceived value. Consider total order cost and longevity! Compare in our
Print Methods Guide.
Are setup fees worth it for small orders?
↓
Screen printing setup fees make sense when you'll reorder (we keep screens for future use) or when ordering 24+ pieces. For one-time small orders (under 24), DTF typically offers better value without setup costs. We'll recommend the most cost-effective method for your quantity. Understand pricing in our
Quotes Comparison Guide.
Should I order extras?
↓
Yes! We recommend ordering 5-10% extra in popular sizes (M, L, XL). Extras are invaluable for: late additions, size exchanges, replacements, new hires, and giveaways. Reordering small quantities later costs more due to setup. Popular sizes often sell out at distributors during peak seasons. Plan for extras! See our
Group Ordering Guide.
Shipping Across Canada
Do you ship to Alberta?
↓
Absolutely! We ship to Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and all Alberta communities. Standard ground shipping takes 4-5 business days from Toronto. Express options available for faster delivery. Alberta businesses enjoy no PST - just federal GST (5%) applies. See Calgary-specific info at our
Calgary Custom T-Shirts Guide.
What about British Columbia?
↓
Yes! Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, and all BC locations. Ground shipping is 5-6 business days; express options cut that significantly. We serve many Vancouver film productions, tech startups, and outdoor brands. BC charges GST + PST (12% combined). Learn more at our
Vancouver Custom T-Shirts Guide.
Do you serve the Atlantic provinces?
↓
Yes! Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland & Labrador. Ground shipping is 3-5 days to Halifax, longer to remote areas. Atlantic provinces use HST (15%). We've served fisheries, maritime festivals, universities, and tourism businesses throughout the region. Compare options in our
Online Ordering Guide.
Can you ship to Northern territories?
↓
Yes, we ship to Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut! Remote shipping costs more and takes longer - typically 7-14 business days. Air shipping is available for urgent orders. We recommend planning extra time for Northern deliveries. Only GST applies in territories (5%). See shipping details in our
Canada-Wide Shipping Guide.
What's shipping time to Western Canada?
↓
From Toronto: Manitoba 3-4 days, Saskatchewan 4 days, Alberta 4-5 days, BC 5-6 days by ground. Express shipping can reduce this to 1-2 days. Add production time to shipping estimates. We recommend adding a buffer for important deadlines. See our complete
Production Timelines Guide.
Do French designs cost extra?
↓
No! There's no extra charge for French or bilingual text. Provide your French copy and we'll print it just like English. We understand Quebec's language requirements and can help with bilingual layouts (French prominent, English secondary) for compliance. See our
Bilingual Printing Guide.
Specific Product Questions
Zip hoodie vs pullover - which is better?
↓
Pullover hoodies offer maximum print area across the front and are generally warmer. Zip hoodies are more versatile for layering and easier to put on/remove. Zippers can interfere with front prints. Choose pullover for bold graphics, zip for casual wear and corporate settings. Compare in our
Hoodies & Sweatshirts Guide.
Snapback vs fitted vs trucker cap?
↓
Snapbacks are adjustable and one-size-fits-most, ideal for giveaways. Fitted caps offer a premium look but require knowing sizes. Trucker caps have mesh backs for breathability and a casual/vintage vibe. Dad hats (unstructured) are trendy and comfortable. All work great with embroidery! See our
Hats & Caps Guide.
Women's vs unisex sizing?
↓
Women's cuts are contoured with shorter length and capped sleeves. Unisex fits everyone but may feel boxy on some women. Many women prefer unisex for comfort. Offer both options when possible, or choose a "retail fit" unisex style (like Bella+Canvas 3001) that flatters most body types. See our
Sizing Guide.
Crewneck vs V-neck - when to choose?
↓
Crewnecks are classic and universally flattering, best for most applications. V-necks offer a more dressed-up look and work better with layering under jackets. V-necks can elongate the neckline. For events, crewneck is safest; for corporate or retail, offer both options. Explore styles in our
T-Shirt Styles Guide.
Ringspun vs regular cotton?
↓
Ringspun cotton is spun into finer, longer threads that create a smoother, softer fabric. Regular (carded/open-end) cotton is coarser but more affordable and durable. Ringspun prints with more detail and feels better against skin. For premium applications, ringspun is worth the upgrade. Learn about fabrics in our
Fabric Glossary.
What's a tri-blend and is it worth it?
↓
Tri-blend combines cotton (comfort), polyester (durability), and rayon (drape). The result is ultra-soft with a vintage heathered appearance. Tri-blends cost 30-50% more than 100% cotton but have a premium retail feel. Worth it for merchandise, fashion brands, and when comfort is priority. See our
Fabric Guide.
Starting a T-Shirt Business
Can I start a t-shirt brand with you?
↓
Absolutely! We've helped launch many successful t-shirt brands. Start small with DTF printing (no minimums), scale to screen printing as volume grows. We offer competitive wholesale pricing, custom branding options, and can grow with your business. Many clients started with 24 tees and now order thousands! See our
Starting a T-Shirt Business Guide.
Do you offer wholesale/resale pricing?
↓
Yes! We offer tiered pricing for resellers and brands. Volume discounts kick in at 24, 50, 100, and 250+ pieces. Regular customers can qualify for preferred pricing. Contact us about setting up a reseller account with dedicated support and streamlined reordering. Learn more in our
T-Shirt Business Guide.
Can you add my brand labels?
↓
Yes! We offer "relabeling" services - removing the manufacturer's tag and replacing with your own. Options include printed inside neck labels (most popular), woven sewn-in tags, and hem tags. This transforms blanks into your branded products. Relabeling adds authenticity for retail. See our
Branding Guide.
Do you offer dropshipping?
↓
We can ship directly to your customers with your branding (blind shipping). For true print-on-demand dropshipping (one-off orders per sale), we're better suited for batch production. If you're selling steady volumes, we can work out a fulfillment arrangement. Contact us to discuss your business model! See our
Business Guide.
What markup should I charge?
↓
Typical retail markups are 2x-3x your cost. A $15 printed tee often retails for $30-45. Premium brands charge more. Consider your market, brand positioning, and competition. Factor in shipping, packaging, and marketing costs. Don't race to the bottom on price - quality and brand story justify premiums! Tips in our
T-Shirt Business Guide.
Special Techniques & Add-ons
Can you add custom neck labels?
↓
Yes! We offer tagless printing (your logo/info printed directly inside the neck) or sewn-in woven labels. Tagless printing is most popular and comfortable. Woven labels add a premium feel. Both options help brand your merchandise as truly yours. We can also add care instructions. See our
Private Label Guide.
Do you offer hang tags?
↓
Yes! Custom hang tags add retail polish to your products. Provide your design or we can help create one. Tags can include pricing, sizing, care info, and brand story. Options include cardstock, kraft paper, or premium finishes. Hung with string, ribbon, or plastic fasteners. Contact us for hang tag pricing and options. See our
Retail Packaging Guide.
What about poly bagging?
↓
We can individually poly bag each item for retail presentation, protection during shipping, or inventory management. Each garment is folded and sealed in a clear bag. Add a size sticker for easy identification. Poly bagging is essential for retail distribution and keeps items fresh. See packaging options in our
Bulk Ordering Guide.
Can you do individual names on orders?
↓
Yes! Individual names and numbers are our specialty for team jerseys, corporate groups, and events. Provide a spreadsheet with names/numbers matched to sizes. DTF and vinyl are ideal for variable data. Screen printing works for numbers. Embroidery can handle names on smaller orders. See our
Names & Numbers Guide.
Do you offer fold and sticker services?
↓
Yes! We can fold garments to specific dimensions for retail display or shipping. Add size stickers, brand stickers, or "thank you" stickers. Folded items can be placed on cardboard for rigidity. Perfect for subscription boxes, retail stores, or trade show handouts. Contact us for folding and finishing options. See our
Fulfillment Services Guide.

Do you offer dedicated account management for large clients?
↓
Yes! Wholesale clients ordering 1,000+ pieces receive a dedicated account manager as their single point of contact. Your account manager handles quotes, production updates, quality control, and ensures seamless reorders. We build long-term partnerships with brands and businesses. Learn more at
Wholesale Partnership.
Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?
↓
Absolutely! We recommend ordering samples before committing to large quantities. You can order printed samples to verify print quality, colour accuracy, and garment fit. For wholesale clients, we can arrange sample packs of different blanks and print methods. Contact us to arrange samples at
Wholesale Samples.
Do you offer contract pricing for recurring bulk orders?
↓
Yes! For brands with ongoing production needs, we offer annual contracts with locked-in pricing. This protects you from price fluctuations and guarantees production capacity. Contract clients also receive priority scheduling and inventory management options. Discuss contract pricing at
Wholesale Contracts.
Printed in Canada
Where is your printing facility located?
↓
Our production facility is located in Toronto, Ontario. We're proudly Canadian-owned and operated, serving customers across Canada from coast to coast. All
screen printing,
DTF printing, and
embroidery is done right here in our Toronto facility by our Canadian team.
Why does "Printed in Canada" matter?
↓
Choosing Canadian printing means: supporting Canadian jobs and the local economy, faster delivery with no customs delays, direct quality control at every step, reduced environmental impact from shorter shipping distances, and supporting a Canadian small business. When you choose T-Shirt Elephant, you're investing in Canada.
Do you print everything in-house?
↓
Yes! All printing is done in-house at our Toronto facility. Our
screen printing presses,
DTF printers, and
embroidery machines are all under one roof. This gives us complete control over quality, timing, and the ability to quickly address any issues. No outsourcing, no middlemen - just direct Canadian production.
How does local printing help with faster delivery?
↓
Canadian production means no international shipping delays, no customs clearance, and no surprise duties or taxes. Orders ship directly from Toronto via Canadian carriers. GTA customers can often receive orders in 1-2 days; most Canadian cities in 3-5 days. Local pickup is available for Toronto-area customers. See our
Production Timelines.
Do you support Canadian jobs?
↓
Absolutely! Our team consists of Canadian printers, graphic artists, customer service representatives, and production staff - all working in our Toronto facility. When you order from T-Shirt Elephant, you're directly supporting Canadian workers and families. We're proud to contribute to the Canadian economy and manufacturing sector.
What quality standards do you follow?
↓
We maintain rigorous quality standards with hands-on inspection at every production step. Each item is checked for print alignment, colour accuracy, and garment quality before shipping. Being local means we can personally oversee quality control - no relying on overseas factories. See our commitment to quality in our
Print Durability Guide.
Is buying Canadian better for the environment?
↓
Yes! Local production significantly reduces the carbon footprint of your order. Printing in Canada instead of overseas eliminates thousands of kilometres of shipping. Domestic ground shipping produces far less emissions than international air/sea freight. Choosing Canadian-made is a more sustainable choice for environmentally-conscious customers.
Do you source Canadian-made blanks?
↓
We offer Canadian brands like ATC (Authentic T-Shirt Company) alongside quality imports from responsible suppliers. While most blank apparel is manufactured overseas, we source from Canadian distributors which supports local businesses. We also carry eco-friendly and ethically-produced options. See our
Fabric Guide for blank options.
