Sizing Tips

• Order up for growing kids — if a child is between sizes, go one size up. Youth hoodies are worn for at least a season, and kids grow fast.
• Hoodies run smaller than t-shirts — the structured hood and ribbed cuffs can make hoodies feel snugger than a comparable t-shirt size. When in doubt, size up.
• Mix youth and adult in one order — we can combine youth and adult sizes in a single order at no extra charge. Older teens or smaller adults can often wear YXL. This is common for school and team orders.

Print Placement Options

Left Chest Logo — Most Popular
A left chest logo 3–4" wide is the most common placement for youth hoodies. It's the classic choice for school names, team logos, club crests, and organization marks. Clean, professional, and works on every style we carry. At youth sizing, keep logos on the smaller end — 3" wide is ideal for YS/YM; 3.5–4" for YL/YXL.

Full Back Print
Back prints on youth hoodies should be 10–12" wide — smaller than the 12–14" typically used on adult sizes. This accounts for the narrower back panel on youth garments. Full back printing is popular for camp names, school spirit wear, team rosters (names & numbers), and graduation designs.

Hood Printing
The hood can be printed when laid flat — popular for bold graphic designs, mascot artwork, and custom patterns. Hood printing adds visual impact for spirit wear and fashion-forward youth programs. Note that hood printing requires screen printing (not embroidery) and is only available on pullover styles.

Sleeve Printing
Sleeve prints on youth hoodies are typically 2–3" wide and run along the upper sleeve. Popular for team number placement, sponsor logos, or secondary text elements. Works well in combination with a chest or back print for a fully branded look.

Kangaroo Pocket Printing
The front kangaroo pocket can be screen printed — a popular choice for camp programs, youth group names, and simple text-based designs. Available on screen print only (embroidery is not practical on pocket seams). Keep designs simple and centred within the pocket panel.

Artwork Scaling for Youth Sizes

When repurposing artwork from adult hoodies, scale your design down to 70–80% of the adult dimensions. A full-back design that's 13" wide on an adult hoodie should be reduced to approximately 10–11" for youth sizes. Chest logos scale similarly — a 4" adult logo typically becomes 3–3.5" on youth. Our art team reviews all designs before printing and will flag any sizing issues.

File Formats

• Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) — Preferred — Vector artwork scales perfectly to any size without quality loss. If you have an AI or EPS file of your logo, send that. It's the easiest path to a perfect print.
• High-resolution PNG — Acceptable — 300 DPI at print size (minimum). A 72 DPI web image is not printable — if your only file is a website screenshot, we'll need to redraw it.
• PDF — Usually fine — PDFs that contain vector data work well. PDFs exported from Canva or Word may be raster and require review.
• JPEG — Last resort — JPEGs use lossy compression and may not print cleanly. Acceptable only at very high resolution.
