Excellent screen printing quality, and excellent selection of high quality garments. Love that I can order just 1 item instead of a large minimum order most custom garment companies require.

Everything You Need to Know About Custom Pin Buttons in Canada
Printed in Toronto, shipped across Canada
Button size sets the mood more than anything else, and each has a job.
1 inch and 1.25 inch
Lapel and collar buttons. A single word, an icon or a small logo. Bands and indie labels sell them by the handful; conferences use them as quiet identifiers.
1.5 inch and 1.75 inch
The versatile middle: room for a logo and a line of text, small enough to wear on a jacket or a lanyard. Schools, clubs and shops choose these most.
2.25 inch
The classic campaign and event button. Big enough for a slogan and a graphic, still comfortable to wear. If you picture a button, it is probably this one.
2.5 inch to 4 inch
Statement badges for trade shows, staff roles, birthdays and displays. At 3 inches and up a button works as a fridge magnet or a hanging tag as well as a badge.
Square, rectangle and oval
A 2 inch square and a 3 by 2 inch rectangle suit logos with straight edges and name badges. Two ovals give a softer frame for lettering. All are pressed with the same face and shell.
Not sure? Order a small run in two sizes; the minimum is ten of one design.
The face of the button is the same either way; the back decides how it is used.
Safety-pin back
The standard. A steel pin on a locking bar, the same mechanism on every button size. Wears on shirts, jackets, lanyards, bags and hats and costs nothing extra.
Magnet back
A flat magnet fixed to the shell instead of a pin, for a small added charge per piece shown in the studio. Sticks to fridges, filing cabinets, whiteboards and steel doors. Nothing pierces fabric, so magnet-back buttons also suit uniforms and delicate garments when paired with a steel washer behind the fabric.
Choosing
Pin backs for wearing and handing out at events. Magnet backs for giveaways meant to stay in a kitchen or an office, and for name badges on uniforms. Many customers order one design both ways.
Printed fridge magnets
If you want a flat, flexible magnet cut to a shape rather than a domed metal button, see our printed fridge magnets.
Buttons are priced per piece by size and quantity, in Canadian dollars, with no setup fee. A magnet back adds a small fixed amount per piece. Colour count and artwork complexity make no difference.
Today's ladder
Here is the live price per button for the classic size:
| Quantity | Price per piece at 2.25 × 2.25 in | Order total |
|---|---|---|
| 10+ | $3.00 CAD | $30.00 for 10 |
| 25+ | $2.25 CAD | $56.25 for 25 |
| 50+ | $0.80 CAD | $40.00 for 50 |
| 100+ | $0.75 CAD | $75.00 for 100 |
| 250+ | $0.65 CAD | $162.50 for 250 |
| 500+ | $0.60 CAD | $300.00 for 500 |
| 1,000+ | $0.55 CAD | $550.00 for 1,000 |
| 2,500+ | $0.50 CAD | $1,250.00 for 2,500 |
| 5,000+ | $0.45 CAD | $2,250.00 for 5,000 |

Reading the ladder
Each row is a quantity break. The studio shows the ladder for the size you pick, so you can see whether the next break makes the run cheaper in total. It often does for buttons, where the setup is the same for ten and a thousand.
Larger runs
Past the top break, or for several sizes and designs, ask for a quote. Business and school accounts get the same live grid online.
Buttons exist for crowds. Here is where they do the most work.
Conferences and trade shows
Role badges for staff, "ask me about" prompts, session identifiers and branded giveaways at the booth. Pair them with printed tees and tote bags on the same order.
Schools and student groups
Spirit-week buttons, house colours, club identifiers, graduation and prom badges, and teacher-appreciation buttons. Low minimums suit a single class or a whole school.
Fundraisers and non-profits
A button is a donation receipt people wear. Awareness ribbons, walk and run days, and thank-you buttons for volunteers.
Birthdays, weddings and reunions
Name badges for a reunion, "team bride" buttons, milestone birthday badges and favours that outlast the cake.
Bands, makers and shops
One-inch merch buttons by the hundred, sold at the table or dropped into every order.
Whatever the event, the same artwork can run as a sticker and a printed tee from the same account.
Businesses use buttons where a badge or a giveaway has to be quick, cheap and on brand.
Staff identification
Role and name buttons for retail floors, restaurants, events and volunteer teams. Square and rectangle sizes suit names; magnet backs suit uniforms.
Retail and promotion
"New", "sale" and "ask me" buttons on staff; giveaway buttons at the counter; a branded button in every shipped order.
Product launches
A launch-day button for the team and the first customers costs cents and photographs well.
Ordering as a business
Order online like anyone else or ask for a quote for standing orders and invoicing. Buttons ship with any printed apparel on the same order, in Canadian dollars with no duty.
A button face wraps around the edge of the shell, so a little of the artwork disappears over the curve. The studio handles this for you; here is what it does and what helps.
Safe area and wrap
For each size the studio shows a safe area where text and important detail should sit, and a wrap zone around it where colour and background continue over the edge. Fill the background to the outer edge and keep the message inside the safe circle.
Files
PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF. A vector logo stays sharp on small buttons. The background remover lifts a logo off a plain background if you want a coloured button behind it.
Text size
On a 1 inch button, one or two words; on 2.25 inches, a slogan and a graphic. The studio flags text that is too small to read at the finished size.
Colour
The coated paper face carries every colour at full strength and the mylar adds a slight gloss. Bright, high-contrast designs read best from a distance.
Buttons are one of the most forgiving printed products: a white paper face under clear mylar prints colour exactly as your file looks, with a light gloss from the cover.
Backgrounds
Solid colour backgrounds wrap cleanly over the edge and hide the shell. White backgrounds show the natural paper, which is fine, and let the design breathe.
Photos and gradients
Full-colour photos and gradients print well on buttons; there is no colour surcharge and no colour limit.
Brand colours
Colours reproduce closely in a full-colour process; an exact swatch-book match is not something a digital process promises. The studio preview is the best guide, and our team flags anything that will not translate.
The metal edge
The rim of the shell is bright steel. Designs with a dark or saturated wrap zone frame it; designs with a white edge let it show. Both look intentional.
A pressed button is a sealed object: paper face, clear mylar, steel shell and back.
Everyday wear
The mylar cover protects the print from scuffs, fingerprints and light moisture. Buttons survive years on a jacket or a bag; the mylar can eventually scratch with heavy abrasion.
Water
Buttons shrug off rain and spills. They are not made for washing machines or soaking; remove them before laundering a garment.
Pins and magnets
The safety-pin back locks closed. Magnet backs hold on steel surfaces indoors; they are not intended for vehicles or outdoor use.
Storage
Keep unused buttons in their box, dry and out of direct sun, and they store for a long time.
Button pricing rewards volume because the press setup is the same for ten and a thousand.
Quantity breaks
The ladder in the studio shows the price per button at every break for your size. Stepping up a break often costs little more in total.
Mixed orders
Add several designs and sizes to one cart; each line prices on its own quantity.
Reorders
Saved designs stay on your account for a reorder in a new quantity, a new size or with a magnet back.
Very large runs
Past the top break, ask for a quote. We price large and recurring runs by hand and can set up invoicing alongside your apparel account.
Buttons are printed, cut and pressed in our North York, Toronto facility on commercial button presses, by the production team that has printed custom apparel for Canadians since 2013.
One order, one box
Because the buttons are made where the shirts are, an event order of buttons, stickers and tees is one order with one tracking number.
Canadian pricing
Prices are in Canadian dollars with no duty, brokerage or exchange fee.
Checked against your proof
Every run is checked against the preview you approved in the studio before it is packed. If a file needs attention the studio could not catch, we email you before pressing.
Buttons ship packed flat in boxes from Toronto to every province and territory.
Cost
Free shipping on orders over $250 before tax; carrier options and rates for smaller orders appear at checkout.
Taxes
GST or HST is added at checkout by province. No duty or brokerage.
Tracking
A tracking number arrives by email when the order ships, and your account shows the status at any time.
Combined orders
Buttons ship with any stickers, magnets, transfers or apparel on the same order.
There are good Canadian button makers, including our sister company, and it is fair to say where we fit.
Buttons plus everything else
Our advantage is the bundle: buttons designed in the same studio and shipped in the same box as printed tees, hoodies, tote bags, stickers and magnets. For an event or a school, that is one order instead of three.
Canadian pricing
CAD prices, Toronto production, no duty or brokerage.
The studio
You see the finished button with its safe area and the exact price for your size and quantity before you add to cart, on the same account as your apparel designs.
For a very large run of buttons alone, ask for a quote and compare like for like.
A button is paper, a thin plastic film and steel.
What it is
The face is coated paper under a clear mylar film, pressed into a steel shell with a steel pin or a small magnet.
Disposal
The steel shell is recyclable where scrap metal is accepted once the face is removed; the mylar face is not. Buttons are durable, so the greenest button is the one that stays in use.
Less waste in production
Faces are printed to the quantity you order, not to a stock run, and small runs are easy in the studio.
Some of the jobs we see most, by time of year.
Winter and spring
Staff name badges for the new year, Valentine and Pride buttons, spirit-week and house-colour buttons, awareness ribbons for spring walks, graduation and prom badges.
Summer
Festival and market merch by the hundred, camp buttons, wedding and reunion name badges, street-team buttons for launches.
Fall
Back-to-school and club-fair buttons, conference and trade-show role badges, Halloween and Movember buttons, campaign and volunteer buttons.
Holidays
Retail "ask me" and sale buttons, staff party badges, gift-shop buttons in the checkout bowl.
Whatever the season, the same design runs as a sticker or a tee from the same account.
Ordering takes a few minutes and you never guess at a price.
