The process of creating my custom hoodie for my partner was easy and clear on T-shirt elephants site. This was my first time making and ordering anything custom and they made it super easy. Custom poster printing at T-Shirt Elephant means full-colour prints on gloss or matte poster paper, trimmed square, from 8 by 10 up to 18 by 24 inches and custom sizes in between. Order one poster for a frame or a run of two hundred for an event, priced live in the studio.
How ours are made
Posters print on our wide-format printer in Toronto and are trimmed to size. Gloss paper deepens colour for photos and art prints; matte paper cuts glare for text-heavy posters and framed pieces.
Who orders
Bands and venues for shows, schools for events and hallways, retailers for promotions, offices for signage, artists for prints, and families for photos and celebrations.

Custom
Any size from 8 to 24 inches on the longest side, in any proportion. The studio keeps your artwork's proportions and shows the trim.
Two papers, chosen by where the poster hangs.
Gloss
Bright, photo-style paper that deepens colour and contrast. Best for photos, art prints, event posters and anything with rich colour. Reflects lights, so less suited to a spot under bright spotlights.
Matte
Soft, glare-free paper that reads cleanly at any angle. Best for text-heavy posters, notices, schedules, and framed prints under glass or bright lighting.
Both
Both are indoor papers. Frame them or pin them, and keep them dry. See gloss posters and matte posters for photos and live prices.
Posters are priced per piece by size and quantity, in Canadian dollars, with no setup fee. Colour count and artwork make no difference.

Reading the ladder
Each row is a quantity break. Event and retail runs of 25 or more cost far less per poster than a single, and the studio shows the ladder for your exact size.
Larger runs
Past the top break, ask for a quote.
Retailers, offices and venues use poster runs where a printed sign has to be quick, bright and consistent across locations.
Retail promotions
Sale, seasonal and product posters in 11 by 17 and 18 by 24 for windows and counters, in identical runs for several stores.
Offices and facilities
Safety notices, wayfinding, schedules and culture posters on matte paper.
Venues and hospitality
Menus, event calendars and show posters on gloss.
Ordering as a business

A poster is the one printed product where file size really matters.
Files
PDF or a large PNG or JPG. For text and logos, a vector PDF or SVG stays sharp at any size.
Resolution
Aim for the largest image you have; the studio compares it to the poster size and warns when it is too small to print cleanly. A phone photo prints well at 8 by 10 and 11 by 17; for 18 by 24 use the original full-size file.
Bleed and trim
Run backgrounds to the edge; the studio handles the trim margin and shows a safe area for text.
Colour
Posters print full colour on white paper, so files print as they look. Very dark, saturated backgrounds look richest on gloss.
Both papers print full colour on a white base.
Gloss
Deep blacks, saturated colour, a reflective sheen. Photos and art shine on it.
Matte
Softer contrast, no reflections, an even surface that reads at any angle and photographs well under glass.
Brand colours
Colours reproduce closely; an exact swatch-book match is not something a digital process promises. The studio preview is the best guide.
Poster paper is for indoor display.
Display
Frame, pin, tape with removable tape or mount on foam board. Keep out of direct sun to hold colour longest.
Moisture
Keep dry. For windows that get condensation, use a frame or a laminated sign instead.
Handling
Handle by the edges; gloss shows fingerprints more than matte.
