Excellent screen printing quality, and excellent selection of high quality garments. Love that I can order just 1 item instead of a large minimum order most custom garment companies require.
I've ordered a number of custom t-shirts from T-Shirt Elephant and have always been pleased with the results. The design software is easy to use, and the selection of colours and fabrics is endless. Turn-around time is short, normally just a few days before my products are in my hands. Recommended!

Everything You Need to Know About Cut Vinyl Heat Transfers in Canada
Printed in Toronto, shipped across Canada
A cut vinyl heat transfer is a one-colour design cut from a roll of heat-transfer vinyl, weeded by hand so only your shape remains on the carrier, and pressed onto a garment with heat. Nothing is printed: the colour and the finish are the vinyl itself, which is why glitter really sparkles, flock is really velvet and glow really glows.
How ours are made
Your artwork is cut on a contour cutter in our Toronto facility from the finish and colour you choose, the excess vinyl is weeded away by hand, and the transfer ships on its carrier with press instructions. Or our team presses it onto garments for you.
Eight finishes, 119 colours
Glitter, puff, hologram, metallic, silicone, flock, glow in the dark and reflective, each in its own colour range, from a handful for hologram and metallic to more than thirty for puff.
What it is not
Cut vinyl is one solid colour per piece, with no gradients or photographs. For multi-colour or photographic art, choose a printed heat transfer.
Every finish cuts and presses the same way; the roll decides the effect.
Glitter
Dense sparkle flake all the way through, 23 colours. Names, numbers and chunky lettering; too thick for fine detail.
Puff
Rises when pressed for a raised, padded finish, 33 colours. Bold lettering and simple shapes.
Hologram
Rainbow shift that moves with the garment, 11 finishes. Dancewear and stage.
Metallic
Smooth chrome-like mirror finish, 5 colours. Clean-edged logos and lettering.
Silicone
Smooth, rubbery, softly raised, 10 colours. Sportswear and uniforms that stretch.
Flock
Suede-like velvet with a rich matte look, 20 colours. Varsity numbers, crests and retro lettering.
Glow in the dark
Pale by day, charges in light, glows at night, 6 colours. Kids wear, events, costumes and safety.
Reflective
Glass-bead vinyl that lights up under headlights and flash, 11 colours; the high-reflective silver, black and white are brightest. Running gear and workwear. Not a certified hi-vis product.
Transfers run from 1 inch to 19.5 inches on the longest side.
Common sizes
3 to 4 inches for chest logos and sleeve hits; 6 to 8 inches for numbers and youth fronts; 10 to 12 inches for adult fronts and backs; up to 19.5 for oversized backs.
Detail limits
Because every piece is cut and weeded by hand, fine detail is the enemy. Keep lettering bold: the studio warns at about 24 point and will not cut below about 14 point. Avoid hairlines, tiny islands and long thin spikes. Glitter and flock are thick, so they need the boldest art; metallic and silicone hold the finest.
Multiple colours
One colour per transfer. For a two-colour design, order two transfers and layer them, or ask us to press a layered design for you.
Cut vinyl is priced per piece by finished area and quantity, in Canadian dollars, with no setup fee. The finish adds a per-square-inch premium over the base roll; glow and reflective cost more per square inch than metallic and hologram, because the rolls do.
Today's ladder
Here is the live price per transfer for metallic at 10 by 10 inches:
| Quantity | Price per piece at 10 × 10 in | Order total |
|---|---|---|
| 10+ | $15.85 CAD | $158.50 for 10 |
| 25+ | $12.15 CAD | $303.75 for 25 |
| 50+ | $10.35 CAD | $517.50 for 50 |
| 100+ | $8.10 CAD | $810.00 for 100 |
| 250+ | $7.05 CAD | $1,762.50 for 250 |
| 500+ | $6.35 CAD | $3,175.00 for 500 |
| 1,000+ | $5.80 CAD | $5,800.00 for 1,000 |
| 2,500+ | $5.30 CAD | $13,250.00 for 2,500 |
| 5,000+ | $5.00 CAD | $25,000.00 for 5,000 |

Reading the ladder
Each row is a quantity break; a team order of 25 or 50 sees a much lower price per piece than 10. The studio shows the ladder for your exact size and finish.
Pressed by us
For finished garments, order through our heat transfer service.
Cut vinyl was made for jerseys.
Names and numbers
Player names and numbers in flock, glitter or metallic, pressed by the team or by us onto jerseys, practice shirts and hoodies.
Crests and sponsor logos
One-colour logos on sleeves and chests in a finish that matches the kit.
Dance and cheer
Hologram and glitter lettering that catches stage light.
Night and safety
Reflective lettering for running clubs and work crews; glow for night runs and camp shirts.
Team orders ship with the blanks or finished garments from the same account, plus the stickers and buttons for the fan table.
Decorators and brands buy cut vinyl transfers finished, so the cutting and weeding, the slow part, is done.
Small decorators
Order weeded transfers in the finish a customer wants and press on demand; no cutter, no scrap, no weeding hours.
Brands and merch
A metallic or flock logo transfer stocked for pressing onto whatever blank sells.
Workwear and safety
Reflective lettering and logos for crews, pressed onto hi-vis and dark workwear. Reflective vinyl adds visibility but is not a certified hi-vis product.
Ordering as a business
Order online or ask for a quote for standing orders and invoicing.
Every order ships with the temperature, time, pressure and peel for its finish; they differ, so follow the card.
Prepare
Pre-press the garment to remove moisture. Position the transfer carrier up.
Press
Press at the card's temperature and time with medium pressure. Puff rises during the press; flock and glitter need firm, even pressure.
Peel
Some finishes peel hot, some cold; the card says which.
Fabrics
Cotton, polyester and blends. For nylon, coated or heat-sensitive fabrics, test one first or ask us to press.
Cut vinyl wants the simplest artwork you have.
Files
A vector SVG or PDF is ideal because the cutter follows its outline exactly. A transparent PNG works; the studio traces it. Photos and gradients cannot be cut.
One colour
The studio shows your art in the vinyl colour you pick, ignoring the colours in the file, so you see exactly what will be cut.
Text
Bold, chunky fonts. The studio warns below about 24 point and stops below about 14.
Shapes to avoid
Hairlines, tiny islands inside letters, and long thin spikes. Where a design has small holes, the studio can fill them so the piece weeds as one.
Each finish has its own colour range, chosen in the studio with a swatch and a name.
Widest ranges
Puff with 33 colours and glitter with 23 cover most team palettes. Flock offers 20.
Effect ranges
Hologram in 11 finishes, reflective in 11 including high-reflective silver, black and white, silicone in 10, glow in 6, metallic in 5.
Matching
Vinyl colours are fixed roll colours, so pick the nearest swatch; the studio preview shows it on a light or dark garment. There is no printing, so no colour matching or gradients.
Pressed correctly, cut vinyl transfers wash with the garment for many cycles.
General care
Turn inside out, wash cold, hang to dry. Never iron over the vinyl and skip bleach.
By finish
Glitter dulls in dryer heat, so hang dry. Metallic is the most delicate finish and rewards gentle washing. Reflective tolerates warmer washes than the others. Puff, flock, silicone and glow follow the general care.
Before wearing
Wait a day after pressing before the first wash.
We sell all three.
Cut vinyl
One solid colour with a real texture or effect. Best for names, numbers, lettering and single-colour logos.
Printed transfers
Full colour and gradients on soft white vinyl. Best for multi-colour logos, photos and full fronts. See printed heat transfers.
DTF gang sheets
Many designs printed on a film sold by the inch, no cutting. Best for filling a sheet with mixed small graphics. See DTF gang sheets.
Cut vinyl pricing falls at every quantity break.
Mixed orders
Several designs, finishes and colours in one cart, each priced on its own quantity. A roster of names and numbers is a set of lines in one order.
Reorders
Saved designs stay on your account for a reorder in a new colour or finish.
Very large runs
Past the top break, ask for a quote.
