I had a short time line for shirts to be made and shipped across the country. T Shirt elephant did not disappoint even got the shirts to me early !! so beyond impressed with this company
Excellent screen printing quality, and excellent selection of high quality garments. Love that I can order just 1 item instead of a large minimum order most custom garment companies require.
I've ordered a number of custom t-shirts from T-Shirt Elephant and have always been pleased with the results. The design software is easy to use, and the selection of colours and fabrics is endless. Turn-around time is short, normally just a few days before my products are in my hands. Recommended!

Everything You Need to Know About Custom Iron-On Transfers in Canada
Printed in Toronto, shipped across Canada
A custom iron-on transfer is your design printed in full colour onto white heat-transfer vinyl, contour cut around the outline, weeded, and supplied on a carrier sheet. You place it on the garment, apply heat and pressure, peel the carrier, and the design is part of the shirt.
Iron or heat press
People search for "iron-on", and a household iron will apply a transfer for a one-off. For a result that survives dozens of washes, a heat press is what we recommend: even temperature and pressure across the whole design. Every order ships with the settings for its vinyl.
How ours are made
Printed and cut in our Toronto facility on the same equipment that makes our stickers, then weeded by hand. See all three vinyls on the printed heat transfers page.
Printed transfers press onto most everyday garments.
Fabrics
Cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, canvas totes, aprons, sweatshirts and hoodies.
Test first
Nylon, coated, waterproof and heat-sensitive fabrics: press one first, or ask us to press them.
Colours
The vinyl is white under the print, so the design looks the same on a black shirt as on a white one.
Blanks
Order blank tees, hoodies and totes from the same account and ship them with the transfers.
Every order ships with the temperature, time, pressure and peel for its vinyl. The pattern is the same.
Prepare
Pre-press the garment for a few seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. Position the transfer, carrier up.
Press
Press at the card's temperature and time with medium pressure. With an iron: cotton setting, no steam, firm pressure, work across the design in sections.
Peel
Standard vinyl peels hot. Lift a corner of the carrier and peel back smoothly.
Wait
Let the garment rest a day before the first wash.
Transfers run from 1 inch to 19.5 inches on the longest side, in any proportion.
Common sizes
3 to 4 inches for chest logos and sleeves; 6 to 8 for youth fronts; 10 to 12 for adult fronts and backs; up to 19.5 for oversized backs.
Placement
A left-chest logo sits about 3 inches below the collar seam; a full front centres about 3 inches below the collar.
Detail
Keep text above roughly 8 points; the studio flags anything too fine to cut and weed.
Iron-on transfers are priced per piece by finished area and quantity, in Canadian dollars, with no setup fee. Standard vinyl is the base price; puff and silicone carry a small per-square-inch premium. There is no colour charge; puff and silicone carry a small per-square-inch premium over standard.
Today's ladder
Here is the live price per transfer for standard vinyl at 10 by 10 inches:
| Quantity | Price per piece at 10 × 10 in | Order total |
|---|---|---|
| 10+ | $19.65 CAD | $196.50 for 10 |
| 25+ | $15.35 CAD | $383.75 for 25 |
| 50+ | $13.20 CAD | $660.00 for 50 |
| 100+ | $10.40 CAD | $1,040.00 for 100 |
| 250+ | $9.00 CAD | $2,250.00 for 250 |
| 500+ | $8.10 CAD | $4,050.00 for 500 |
| 1,000+ | $7.45 CAD | $7,450.00 for 1,000 |
| 2,500+ | $6.85 CAD | $17,125.00 for 2,500 |
| 5,000+ | $6.40 CAD | $32,000.00 for 5,000 |

Reading the ladder
Each row is a quantity break. The studio shows the same ladder for your exact choice, so you can see whether the next break costs less in total than the run you planned. It often does.
Larger runs
Past the top break, or for a mix of sizes and designs, ask for a quote. Business accounts see the same live grid online.
Transfers suit anyone who would rather press than print.
Home and hobby
Family reunion shirts, team-parent shirts, party tees, matching holiday pyjamas.
Small brands
Press to order with a home heat press and no stock of printed shirts.
Schools and clubs
Spirit shirts pressed at a club night; names added later.
Shops and decorators
Full-colour transfers to press onto customer garments alongside your own vinyl work.
Pressed correctly with a heat press, printed transfers wash with the garment for many cycles.
Care
Turn inside out, wash cold, tumble low or hang to dry. No bleach, no fabric softener, never iron over the print.
Iron-applied transfers
Expect a shorter life than a heat-pressed transfer; uneven heat leaves edges that lift sooner.
Pricing rewards volume because the setup is the same for ten transfers and a thousand.
Quantity breaks
The ladder in the studio shows the price per transfer at every break. Stepping up a break often costs little more in total and leaves stock for the next event.
Mixed orders
Add as many designs and sizes as you like to one cart; each line prices on its own quantity.
Reorders
Saved designs stay on your account. Reorder in a new quantity or a new size with no artwork to send again.
Very large runs
Past the top break, ask for a quote. We price large and recurring runs by hand and can set up business invoicing.
Upload a transparent PNG, SVG or PDF; the background remover lifts a logo off a plain background. The studio traces the cut line around the outline, so there is no white box around the design. Photos and gradients print fine; hairlines and long thin spikes cut and weed poorly and the studio warns about them.
Printed transfers carry full colour and gradients on a white vinyl base. Cut vinyl transfers are one solid colour cut from a specialty roll such as glitter or flock; see cut vinyl heat transfers. DTF gang sheets print many designs on one film sold by the inch; see DTF printing. For a single full-colour design ready to press, this page is the one.
Iron-on transfers are printed on white heat-transfer vinyl on our own wide-format printers in our North York, Toronto facility, contour cut, weeded by hand and supplied on a carrier sheet, by the team that has pressed custom apparel for Canadians since 2013.
One order, one box
Because they are made where the shirts are, an order of transfers, stickers, buttons and blank or printed tees is one order with one proof set and one tracking number.
Canadian pricing
Prices are in Canadian dollars; there is no duty, brokerage or exchange fee because nothing crosses a border.
Checked against your proof
Every run is checked against the preview you approved in the studio before it is packed. If a file needs attention, we email you before production.
Iron-on transfers ship flat between boards from Toronto to every province and territory.
Cost
Shipping is free on orders over $250 before tax. Below that, carrier options and rates appear at checkout.
Taxes
GST or HST is added at checkout by province. There is no duty or brokerage.
Tracking
You receive a tracking number by email when the order ships, and your account shows its status at any time.
Combined orders
Iron-on transfers ship with any apparel or other printed products on the same order, so an event kit arrives together.
The well-known online printers do a good job, and it is fair to say where we differ on iron-on transfers.
Range and sizing
Contour-cut, weeded, ready-to-press pieces priced live for your exact size, against sheet-only or fixed-size transfer sites.
Canadian pricing and shipping
CAD prices, Toronto production, no duty or brokerage. Sites that quote in CAD still ship across a border.
Everything on one order
Stickers, sheets, magnets, buttons, posters, transfers and printed apparel share one cart and one delivery.
The studio
You see the finished piece and the exact price for your size and quantity before you add to cart.
Where the big sites win is very large runs of one product. Past our top break, ask for a quote and compare like for like.
If you would rather receive finished shirts, order through our heat transfer service and we price the garment and the application together. Transfers alone suit small batches, home presses and on-demand shops; finished garments suit teams, events and businesses that want the job done.
A printed heat transfer is a polyurethane film with a printed face on a carrier sheet, and it is fair to say so plainly.
What it is
Iron-on transfers are a printable polyurethane heat-transfer vinyl with a white base, printed in full colour, on a clear application carrier.
Disposal
The carrier sheet and weeded excess are not recyclable in household programs. Once pressed, the transfer is part of the garment and lives as long as it does.
Less waste in production
Every order is made to the quantity you order rather than to a stock run. Ordering what you will use is the biggest saving, and small runs are easy in the studio.
Spring: team-parent shirts and school spirit nights. Summer: reunion, camp and cottage tees. Fall: back-to-school club shirts and Halloween costumes. December: matching holiday pyjamas and family photo shirts.
Ordering takes a few minutes and you always see the price first.
1. Start on the product
Pick standard printed transfers from the cards above, or puff or silicone for a different hand.
2. Upload and size
Upload your art or build it from text and shapes. Set the size; the studio traces the cut line and shows the price ladder for that size.
3. Choose the options and quantity
Pick standard, puff or silicone vinyl and set the quantity where the ladder makes sense for you.
4. Approve and check out
Check the preview, add to cart and check out in Canadian dollars alongside any apparel. You receive tracking when the order ships, and the design stays saved for reorders. Questions at any stage: contact our Toronto team. See all printed heat transfers.
