Everything You Need to Know About Custom Vinyl Stickers in Canada

Custom vinyl stickers are printed on a flexible white vinyl film with a permanent adhesive, then cut to the shape of your art. Vinyl is the sticker material for real life: it bends around a water bottle, shrugs off rain, wipes clean and does not tear or go soft the way paper does.
Two finishes
White gloss deepens colour and shines; white matte softens colour and kills glare. Both carry every colour at full strength on the white base, so the design prints as it looks on screen.
What we cut
Any shape from 1 to 23.5 inches on the longest side: contour cuts that follow the art, or circles, squares and rounded rectangles with a margin. Every cut is previewed in the studio before you order.

Same vinyl, same adhesive, same durability; the finish is the difference.
Gloss
A bright, reflective surface that deepens colour and contrast. The classic sticker look for logos, packaging and anything photographed under normal light. Wipes clean easily.
Matte
A soft, glare-free surface that reads well up close and photographs without reflections. Illustrators and planners favour it; it also takes pen and pencil.
Choosing
Gloss for bold logos and outdoor use; matte for illustration, photo work and packaging that will be photographed. Order a small run of each if you cannot decide; the minimum is ten.
Printed vinyl stickers are water-resistant and designed for indoor and outdoor use.
Water
Rain, condensation, hand washing and wiping are fine once the adhesive has set for a day. We do not recommend a dishwasher for any printed sticker.
Sun
Outdoors, expect the print to hold well for a season or two in direct sun; indoors it lasts far longer. Heavy-duty gloss is the thicker choice for pieces that get handled.
Surfaces
Best on smooth, clean, dry surfaces: metal, glass, painted surfaces, hard plastic, coated packaging. Textured or oily surfaces shorten the life.
Removal
Permanent vinyl comes off with heat and patience and may leave adhesive; removable vinyl peels cleanly for months.
Vinyl is the default for almost every sticker job.
Business
Logo stickers for packaging and inserts, product labels on jars and boxes, equipment and asset labels, door and window signage.
Merch
Die-cut characters and lettering for markets and online shops, water-bottle and laptop stickers by the hundred, holographic and glitter specials on the same shape.
Events and schools

Vinyl stickers are priced per piece by finished area and quantity, in Canadian dollars, with no setup fee. White gloss and white matte are the base price; heavy-duty and removable vinyl add a small per-square-inch premium. Shape, colour count and border style make no difference.

Reading the ladder
Each row is a quantity break. The studio shows the same ladder for your exact size, so you can see whether the next break costs less in total than the run you planned. It often does.
Larger runs
Past the top break, or for a mix of sizes and materials, ask for a quote. Business accounts see the same live grid online.
Set the width or the height and the other side follows your art.
Common sizes
2 to 3 inches for laptops, bottles and packaging seals. 3 to 4 inches for merch. 5 to 8 inches for windows, doors and equipment. Larger sizes become decals and small signs.
Shapes
Contour cuts that trace the art, or circles, ovals, squares and rounded rectangles. Shape does not change the price.
Borders
A slim white border gives a classic finished look and protects thin edges; a tight cut follows the art closely. The studio previews both.
Good artwork makes a good sticker, and the studio does most of the preparation.
Best files
A transparent PNG or a vector SVG or PDF. A JPG works with the background remover.
Resolution
Upload the largest version you have; the studio checks it against the size you chose and warns if it is too small.
Cut-friendly shapes
Avoid hairlines, tiny islands and long thin spikes. Keep text above roughly 8 points.
Sticker pricing rewards volume because the setup is the same for ten pieces and a thousand.
Quantity breaks
The ladder in the studio shows the price per sticker at every break for your size. Stepping up a break often costs little more in total and leaves stock for the next event.
Mixed orders
Add as many designs, sizes and materials as you like to one cart; each line prices on its own quantity.
Reorders
Saved designs stay on your account. Reorder in a new quantity or on a new material with no artwork to send again.
Very large runs
Past the top break, ask for a quote. We price large and recurring runs by hand and can set up business invoicing.
Vinyl is forgiving, but a few habits make it last.
Prepare
Clean and dry the surface; a wipe of rubbing alcohol on metal or glass helps. Room temperature is best.
Apply
Peel the sticker from its backing, place one edge, and smooth from that edge across with a finger or a card to push out air.
Set
Give permanent adhesive a day before exposing it to water or heavy handling.
Curves
Vinyl bends around bottles and cylinders; for compound curves, choose a smaller sticker.
Logo stickers are the cheapest branded piece a business can put in a customer's hand.
Packaging
Seal boxes and mailers, brand plain bags, add a thank-you sticker to every order.
Labelling
Product labels on jars and bottles, asset labels on equipment, removable labels for demo units.
Promotion
Trade-show and conference giveaways, bundled with tees, totes and buttons from the same account.
Business customers order online with the same live grid; standing orders and invoicing are a quote away.

Vinyl

Effect films

Sticker vinyl is a plastic film with an adhesive layer, and it is fair to say so plainly.
What it is
Printed vinyl stickers are PVC film with a permanent or removable adhesive on a paper or film backing.
Disposal
Vinyl stickers are not recyclable in household programs. Backing paper often is, depending on your municipality.
Less waste in production
Pieces are nested tightly on the roll to use less material, and every order prints to the quantity you order rather than to a stock run. Ordering what you will use is the biggest saving, and small runs are easy in the studio.
New year: packaging seals and thank-you stickers for shipped orders. Spring: school spirit stickers, team equipment stickers, market-season merch. Summer: festival singles, water-bottle stickers. Fall: back-to-school laptop stickers, campaign and event stickers. Winter: gift packaging, holiday retail windows, sticker-sheet gift sets.
